Just got the “official” good news that an article resulting from a collaboration with microbial ecologist Dave Emerson was published online by the journal Estuaries and Coasts as part of a special issue on tidal freshwater wetlands. This project was associated with a large plant-removal experiment that I worked on during my post-doc at SERC. The manuscript, entitled “Anaerobic Metabolism in Tidal Freshwater Wetlands: II. Effects of Plant Removal on Archaeal Microbial Communities” can be found here. Stay tuned for updates on a companion article that was submitted to the journal focused on anaerobic carbon mineralization rates in the same experiment (we’re hopeful that reviews are favorably received!).
